Student Stories
The most meaningful part of my experience was the togetherness of it all. Everyone was so open to meeting new people and that overall made my experience 100x better.
Collaborating with passionate students from all around the world was the best part of the summer at Berkeley. Making friends and challenging myself academically was a breeze here.
I was able to see how class professors and lecturers interacted with students, which made me more excited about my future college experience.
I was able to meet people who share similar interests and learn with them, at the same time that I experienced a little of college life. It was fundamental for my personal growth, self-confidence and motivated me to keep studying hard.
I think my favorite part was probably the many diverse and different people I got to meet, from people I talked to passingly to some of the really close friends I made from the program with whom I intend to keep contact with. It was a great way to learn about different experiences and just have fun with different people, and get support throughout classes!
First of all, I loved what I learnt at the program. Obviously, I learnt a lot in my classes in a short span of two months, but more importantly this program helped me learn more about myself. This program gives you the freedom to have to make your own decisions - you have to keep up with class and do your projects and you have to make sure you're healthy. It feels daunting but it's an amazing experience. My favorite moments were when I was walking back from classes to Bowles (or anywhere else), listening to music and enjoying the weather and everything - the campus is absolutely amazing.
Man, this program has changed my life. Berkeley is my dream school, and taking two years (this is my second summer at Cal) and 13 units worth of courses here have been a dream come true.
I learnt a lot through the [environmental science] course of how to write scientific lab reports, conduct my own project and lots of knowledge, I also love the program because it really shows my how age never limits potential. I was put in a class full of graduate students and undergrads. As a high schooler, I lack experience, I do not major in Environmental studies or design but Berkeley gave my the opportunity to learn the same level of knowledge as people much older. Expanding my perceptions and understanding how potential and diligence surpasses age and experience.
I loved the lab classes and connecting with the professor and engaging in conversation with the other students that are going through Med School and PA school applications. I got a lot of insight from them.
